Villa Gardenia und Villa Bouganville
Two beautiful holiday homes surrounded by a large garden near Capo Vaticano.
San Nicolo di Ricadi is located at the foot of Monto Porto and just before Capo Vaticano. Tropea, Calabria’s most popular holiday resort, is 10 km away and can be reached by car in about 15 minutes. The old noble town of Tropea is enthroned like an acropolis on a sandstone cliff that drops steeply to the sea. Wonderful beaches stretch along several bays. The old town of Tropea is criss-crossed by small, narrow alleyways where the noisy and typical southern Italian life takes place. Numerous shops invite you to stroll and shop and a large selection of restaurants offers you the specialities of the region. Of particular historical interest are Tropea’s Norman cathedral and also the numerous noble palaces in the old town with their beautiful entrance portals. Tropea’s landmark, the small rocky island “Isola Bella” (Beautiful Island) with its pretty chapel can be admired over an aperitif at sunset from one of Tropea’s panoramic terraces.
San Nicolo offers everything you need for everyday life: a bar and pasticceria for a delicious cappuccino in the morning or an aperitif before dinner, a handful of restaurants, a post office, an ATM, a petrol station, a laundry etc. Among Calabria’s most beautiful beaches are those of Capo Vaticano: magnificent natural scenery with sheer cliffs, the clearest water, small coves, some accessible only by boat, and sparkling sand and pebble beaches.
Both holiday homes offer you great comfort for a relaxing holiday in close proximity to the dream beaches of Capo Vaticano ( 2.5 km away). You can spend a holiday here all year round, as the houses are also equipped for cooler temperatures.
These beautiful holiday villas are surrounded by a spacious garden with a large selection of native plants and trees. Villa Gardenia has two bedrooms with matching bathrooms and a very nice living area with an open kitchen. The house is surrounded by terraces with barbecue and outdoor shower, and there is also a sun terrace on the roof. The interior is very stylish and with attention to detail.
In front of Villa Bouganville is a large terrace with seating. The sea sparkles in the distance. Pine trees provide shade and an outdoor shower invites you to cool off. The house has a bedroom with a double bed, a bathroom with shower and a cosy living/kitchen area with thermal fireplace and dining table. The kitchen area just at the entrance behind the terrace has a new gas cooker and electric oven and a large fridge with freezer compartment. The new furnishings are very tasteful and far from any average holiday home.
Both villas were designed by Roman architect Paola Nunzi Rossomando and completed in 2007 and 2009 respectively. There are a total of 4 villas on the approx. 8000 m² spacious property. The largest is the summer house of the owners, who spend the months of July and August there; it is situated at some distance from the two holiday villas, so that you have enough privacy. In the fourth small villa lives the caretaker with his family, who lovingly looks after the property and houses and is also open to your wishes.
The property is within walking distance of the village of San Nicolo di Ricadi, a typical Calabrian village where you can find everything you need for everyday life. You can easily walk into the village through a residential street in 3 minutes. The pretty coastal town of Tropea can be reached in about 15 minutes by car via the country road that passes the property.
