B&B Gemma is a dreamlike spot with breathtaking views stretching to the Aeolian Islands, Aspromonte, and Lamezia Terme! Nestled in a large park, wonderful hosts welcome you to an elegant villa with 3 charming rooms. One of my favorite places!
Lamezia Terme is often overlooked as a destination for a vacation in Calabria. Most travelers arrive at its airport and pay little attention to the city itself. However, this town of 70,000 residents has polished itself up in recent years, with numerous charming corners, a lovely shopping street, great restaurants, and many hidden treasures! It’s worth making a stop—you’ll be pleasantly surprised!
Lamezia Terme is also strategically located for excursions to the Sila mountains, along the Costa degli Dei with its stunning beaches, and northwards along the Costa dei Cedri. B&B Gemma is also perfect for a longer stay, with its lovingly maintained park offering plenty of beautiful spots to relax, unwind, and enjoy the view.
B&B Gemma is hidden in greenery high above the Nicastro district. When I visited for the first time in July 2021, I could hardly believe the beauty of this place! A large, lovingly maintained park, a stately villa with beautifully furnished rooms—and the view! Below, the city stretches out, and beyond it, the sea as far as the eye can see! On a clear day, you can see all the way to Aspromonte!
A warm host family welcomes you and, if you wish, shares their vast knowledge about Calabria and its history. They are also fantastic cooks, so don’t miss out on their meals!
Emilio Salvatore Leo, the creative head of this family business, has successfully revitalized the company, which he inherited from his father and grandfather, through artistic and innovative ideas. It’s advisable to book a visit in advance—feel free to ask me for assistance! This is the best shopping spot in Calabria, offering stunning design pieces!
Afterward, enjoy a meal at La Baracca restaurant in Decollatura. The name may sound misleading, but I had an excellent dining experience there!
