Lovely one or two bedroom flats with sea view, only 5 min. walk to the beach and with pool. The modern flats are located in a small family-run holiday complex with a well-kept communal garden on the outskirts of Parghelia. They have sea view and balcony on the 1st floor and on the top floor, the flats on the ground floor have garden access. You can reach a beautiful bathing bay via a footpath with stairs. Since 2020, there is a great 14-metre pool and lounge on the large garden plot directly opposite. The use of the pool is exclusive for the holiday guests of the pousada!
Parghelia is located just before Tropea, Calabria’s “pearl” on the Tyrrhenian coast. The small village has about 1400 inhabitants and, as its name (Greek paralia = beach) suggests, it is situated on a beautiful stretch of coast with cliffs, bays and sandy beaches. The village is not as lively as the neighbouring resort of Tropea, so you can still enjoy the “original” Calabrian life. However, you will find everything you need for everyday life, from a supermarket to a few bars and pasticcerias (pastry shops), small restaurants (usually only open in season), a post office, a pharmacy and even a pro loco (tourist information). Parghelia also has a small railway station where most regional trains stop. If you feel like a change of pace, Tropea is just a stone’s throw away (less than 5 minutes by car, about 30 minutes on foot). The old noble town is enthroned like an acropolis on a sandstone cliff that drops steeply to the sea. Wonderful beaches stretch along several bays. The old town of Tropea is criss-crossed by small, narrow alleys where the noisy and typical southern Italian life takes place. Numerous shops invite you to stroll and shop and a large selection of restaurants offers you the specialities of the region. Of particular historical interest are Tropea’s Norman cathedral and the numerous noble palaces in the old town with their beautiful entrance portals. Tropea’s landmark, the small rocky island “Isola Bella” with its pretty chapel, can be admired over an aperitif at sunset from one of Tropea’s panoramic terraces.
The pretty holiday complex “Pousada” comprises a total of 12 holiday flats in a beautiful, new house over 3 floors. On the ground floor are the 2-room flats with a spacious living area with sofa bed and kitchenette, a bedroom with double bed, bathroom and a veranda from which you can directly access the garden. On the first floor are the 3-room flats with living/kitchen area, two bedrooms, bathroom and balcony with sea view. On the upper floor of the house is the spacious penthouse with a living room with kitchenette, two bedrooms, bathroom and large balcony. From here you have the best view of the sea and Tropea and can enjoy the sunset behind the Lipari Islands.
All two-bedroom flats are equipped with a double bed, two single beds and a sofa bed. On request, the single beds can be converted into a double bed. All holiday flats have a TV. The 3-room flats have air conditioning.
The holiday complex is run by the friendly brother and sister team Maria Teresa and Pino Blasi, who warmly welcome their guests and guarantee a carefree stay. The house is surrounded by a beautiful garden, sunbeds and balcony furniture are of course at your disposal. There is a communal barbecue, but individual barbecues are also available on request. The house is situated in a quiet residential area, only 5 minutes away from the centre of Parghelia. You can also reach a wonderful bathing bay in a few minutes on foot via a small path and stairs. Since there is no typical Italian lido (bar and deck chairs) and the bay can only be reached on foot (Italians prefer to drive directly to the beach), this bathing bay is usually not very frequented.
There is Wifi in the house!
The prices are per week. Occupancy from Saturday to Saturday is desirable but not essential. The price includes water, electricity and gas consumption. The final cleaning fee of € 35.00 for the two-room flats and € 40.00 for the three-room flats must be paid in addition. The prices are valid for 2 or 4 persons, for occupancy with more persons (sofa bed) an extra charge will be made.
Towels (dishes and bathroom) and bed linen are available for € 15.00 per person. If you wish to change the linen on site, you will be charged € 10,00 per person. The municipality of Parghelia charges € 0,50 per person and per day in tourism tax, which you have to pay to the owner of the house.
A washing machine is at your disposal.
